Wrigley's GreenUp Chat - Nov. 18th, 2004

moderator2: We're going to ask Diana a couple of questions, then you'll have your chance. So, Diana, Tell us, what made you want to get involved with Wrigley’s greenup?

Diana: Wrigley’s greenup is about empowering teens to make our communities better. I was really excited to be a part of a project that helps teens become leaders and that knows we can do a lot to make our communities better.

moderator2: Ok, so what is Wrigley’s greenup all about?

Diana: Wrigley’s greenup is a program that allows teens to make decisions and take action to improve areas in their community that are being neglected. The projects that Wrigley will select are all totally created by teens, so if you have an idea, send it to in to www.wrigleysgreenup.com. The projects selected will take place next year, one could be yours!

moderator2: You must get asked to support a lot of causes.

Diana: Yes but I chose Wrigley’s greenup because it is about making a difference but it’s also about having fun. Caring about your community, hanging out with your friends, and doing something positive. It’s a great mix.

moderator2: I’m sure a lot of our participants have great ideas, how do they get involved?

Diana: First of all, don’t wait till the last minute, write to Wrigley greenup about your location and your ideas for how to make it better … don’t forget you have to include two photos as well!

moderator2: And what is the deadline for project submissions?

Diana: The submission deadline is November 30th. You have about 2 weeks left, so send in your idea by mail or online.

moderator2: Why is giving back to your community important to you?

Diana: I think one of the best things you can do with your time is improve the place that you see and live in every day. I think it is important to get my friends involved in the fun and show that together we can make a huge difference in our communities.

moderator2: Can friends participate too?

Diana: Absolutely! One of my favorite parts of participating in a greenup event in Atlanta was hanging out with all the volunteers. The more friends you enlist to help, the more fun it will be!!

moderator2: What else will be going on at the greenup events?

Diana: The greenup events are going to be a lot of fun! Obviously they will be focused on transforming locations in local communities but there will be other stuff going on as well, fun games and music, etc

moderator2: I heard you’re giving a concert to the best project. Is that right?

Diana: Yes! I am so excited because I will be performing an exclusive concert for the project that makes the biggest change and has the most volunteers. Anyone who submits an idea and is chosen will have the opportunity to win the concert!

moderator2: Well, I know all of your fans like me will be very excited to here that, so anyone can win?

Diana: Thanks so much! I am very lucky to have such amazing fans like all of you online with me tonight. Well, first you need to get your idea to Wrigley before November 30th. If your location is selected then you will need to rally your friends and the people in your community to get involved.

moderator2: Ok, we're going to take a question from the audience now.

Rachael: whats a good way to promote your preject so you can get alot of peer volunteers?

Diana: It's easy - just talk to you friends in your community and at school and tell them you are hoping you will win a greenup event - and if you do, you'd like them to participate...

Erbear218: Diana if you didn't make a project yet is there still time to??

Diana: Yes - of course - just get your photos and submission information to Wrigleysgreenup.com by November 30th...you've definitely got plenty of time.

Amanda: Hey Diana what is your favorite flavor of gum?

Diana: My favorite gum of all time is Winterfresh...I chew it all the time.

moderator2: And how will the winning locations be selected?

Diana: Wrigley will be awarding up to 20 teens with a greenup project.

Diana: And everyone will have a chance to help decide on one of the winning locations right here at www.wrigleysgreenup.com!

moderator2: That is awesome, how will we decide?

Diana: You will have the chance to vote online for one of the locations that will be a Wrigley’s greenup project. I love to vote on things so I thought that was a pretty cool part of the program.

Erbear218: Diana do you still have room for more people on your greenup team?

Diana: Anyone can be a part of greenup...log on to wrigleysgreenup.com to submit your idea...it's easy to enter...

moderator2: Tell us about your new album.

Diana: My first album is scheduled to come out on December 7th. The name of the album is Blue Skies so look for it soon. I am so excited for you all to hear it...my single "Emotional" is already on the radio. Soon you’ll be able to hear a portion of the first single entitled ‘Emotional’ on www.wrigleysgreenup.com too.

Kass: Diana what's your favorite song on the album?

Diana: Actually, that's a really hard question. I honestly like them all - they are special to me in their own way since this is my first album.

ilovediana: Diana are you going to be filiming a music video?

Diana: I'm definitely filming a music video - to which song, I'm not quite sure yet.

moderator2: Are you going to be performing across the country?

Diana: Appearances to promote my album are still being worked out so you never know! But … another way of having me come to your town is to enter Wrigley’s greenup... ;-)

DianaYouAreMyIdol: Diana, there was a rumor you were going on tour across the country with Kelly Clarkson, is that true?

Diana: As of right now, no. But that's a cool idea...

Aileen: Diana - where will your album be sold?

Diana: Anywhere and everywhere...really!

Kass: Are you gonna be doing any acting in the future or even now?

Diana: I would love to do some acting - keep your eyes peeled for me on the small OR big screen...you never know!

moderator2: Before we let you go tell us what you think is most important about Wrigley’s greenup and why teens should get involved?

Diana: Wrigley’s greenup is important because it gives the power to those of us who care most. These projects let us create better places to live and enjoy and give back to our own communities.

moderator2: Ok, so one more time what is the submission deadline?

Diana: November 30th, so everyone has about two more weeks!

moderator2: And remind me again when I can buy your album?

Diana: My album will debut on December 7th!

moderator2: And part of the single can be heard at www.wrigleysgreenup.com, right?

Diana: Yep, later this month you’ll be able to hear a portion of my new single ‘Emotional’ right here on www.wrigleysgreenup.com!

moderator2: Great! Thanks so much for joining us, Diana. Wrigley’s greenup sounds like a lot of fun. Not to mention a chance to win an exclusive concert performed by you!

Diana: Thank you for inviting me, I am really excited to spread the word about Wrigley’s greenup! I hope everyone who participated tonight joins the program in some way … and also don’t forget to look for my album in stores December 7th!

moderator2: And a very special thanks to all of those who joined in to chat with Diana and learn more about Wrigley’s greenup. Don’t forget to come back and visit www.wrigleysgreenup.com
